Quebec police watchdog investigating death of woman who had allegedly been threatened

LAVAL, Que. — Quebec's police watchdog is investigating after a woman was found dead in the Montreal area two days after calling authorities to report alleged death threats against her.

The Bureau des enquetes independantes says the 32-year-old victim called police on Friday to report the alleged threats.

It says in a news release police met with her and took a statement.

The watchdog says the woman's body was found Sunday morning in the parking lot of a residential building in Montreal's northern suburb of Laval.

It says her body bore marks of violence and her death is considered suspicious.

Five members of the watchdog have been dispatched to investigate the case with the help of provincial police.
