Police investigate after man, 32, shot dead in St. Catharines, Ont.

Police say a 32-year-old man has been shot dead in St. Catharines, Ont.

Niagara Regional Police say they were called to the area of Glenridge Avenue and Marsdale Drive around 8:30 p.m. Monday and found a man with gunshot wounds.

They say he was taken to hospital, where he died.

Police say a man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident but no charges have been laid so far.

Investigators say they don't believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety.

Officers remain at the area and are asking people to stay away.
