Person charged after allegedly killing roommate's kitten during argument

WEST NIPISSING, Ont. — Provincial police say a 40-year-old is facing charges after he allegedly killed his roommate's kitten during an argument in West Nipissing, Ont.

Officers say the incident happened in a home last week, when two people got into a verbal argument.

They say the disagreement "escalated" and one of the people ended up killing the kitten before leaving the scene.

Police say they soon found and arrested the accused.

The person, whose gender wasn't given, has been charged with one count of killing or injuring animals and two counts of drug possession.

They're due in court on Oct. 1.
