Peel police officers save boy hanging from balcony in Mississauga

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Police west of Toronto say officers rescued a seven-year-old boy who was hanging from a sixth floor balcony.

Peel police say the boy was playing near the window in the apartment building in Mississauga, Ont., when he slipped Friday.

They say his mother was able to grab his hand but was losing her grip on him.

Police say officers entered the unit and pulled him to safety.

Peel Deputy Police Chief Marc Andrews praised the officers, calling them "everyday heroes."

They say the child was not hurt.
