Ottawa teacher facing new sex charges; police say there could be more victims

OTTAWA — An Ottawa high school teacher is facing new sex charges in relation to alleged incidents involving two female students in 2013.

Ottawa police say 42-year-old Majed Turk is facing four counts of luring a child, as well as one count each of sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

Turk was initially charged in July with one count each of sexual assault, sexual interference and criminal harassment.

Those charges were related to alleged incidents dating between September and November of last year.

Turk was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday regarding the new charges.

Police say they are concerned there could be more victims.

Turk was a substitute teacher at several schools in the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board from 2009 onward, according to police.
