TORONTO — Ontario is reporting 666 new COVID-19 cases and seven more deaths from the disease.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 366 of those infected are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown immunization status, while 300 fully vaccinated people contracted the virus.
The province says three of today's reported deaths occurred more than a month ago and have now been added to the overall tally following a data cleanup.
There are currently 126 patients in hospital who are testing positive for COVID-19, and 133 people in intensive care because of the illness.
Elliott notes that not all hospitals report COVID-19 data on weekends.
The province had planned to lift capacity limits in the remaining settings where proof of vaccination is required on Monday, but postponed the move for at least 28 days following a rise in infections.
