One person dead, four others in critical condition after Ottawa crash

OTTAWA — Paramedics say one person is dead and four others are in hospital after a crash in Ottawa Friday night.

They say two vehicles collided around 9:30 p.m. on Hawthorne Road at Leitrim Road in the southeast area of the city.

The Ottawa Paramedic Service says a man in his 30s died at the scene while four other adults were taken to a trauma centre in critical condition.

The name of the deceased was not immediately released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
