TORONTO — Much of southern Ontario can expect a snowy Christmas, in one way or another.
Snow was expected in Toronto this morning and Environment Canada is warning western and central-southern Ontario of snow squalls coming off Lake Huron.
The weather agency says up to 45 centimetres of snow could fall off the coast of the lake with moderate snow forecasted southeast of London.
Drivers are advised to take caution in likely hazardous driving conditions, with low visibility in some areas during potentially heavy snowfall.
In the Ottawa area, Environment Canada has issued rainfall warning turning to flurries in the afternoon.
Between 30 and 60 millimetres of rain is expected through the morning and Environment Canada is warning of potential for flash flooding.
