ZEPPA, James Raymond 'Jim'

Posted

Zeppa

December 11, 1941 – June 19, 2021

Jim Zeppa has finally gone off to Rock and Roll Heaven.
Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Jim was adopted by Pete and Florence Zeppa and raised in the West End. His exuberance and flair and his penchant for a well-told story may have been underappreciated by teachers, principals and officers of the law, but these qualities served him well in the Toronto music scene where he was a prominent figure, running clubs, promoting bands and always dancing to the beat of his own drum.
He was enormously proud of his three children, Jamie, Jason and Eva, encouraging them to do what they loved and to see as much of the world as they could. He was beloved Uncle Jimmy to his sister Roni’s children, Scott and Vicki, and was a deeply-adored Grandpa Jimmy to Jasper, Dylan and Pema.
Jim was high-spirited and one-of-a-kind, and he loved music more than anything else. He made friends easily with his natural warmth and openness, and his wit and charm were legendary. As he always put it, he wore his heart on both sleeves, and he will be missed by many folks in many walks of life. Everyone has a story about Jimmy, and he would probably say that was the whole point
He died in Toronto on June 19, 2021 at the age of 79.
An online memorial service is currently being planned so please contact the family for more details.
