YOUNGSON, Austin Alan (1959 - 2024)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Youngson on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the F.J. Davey Home with his children by his side.

Austin was born on July 19th, 1959, in Kitchener, Ontario, to the late Roy and Phyllis Youngson. He was also the brother of 7 wonderful siblings, Cathy Waugh (Billy), Connie Chegahno (Colin), Cameron Youngson (Karen), Christine Youngson (late Dave), Gordon Youngson (Catherine), Will Youngson (Leslie), and Michael Youngson (Susan). Together, they are the Pieces of Eight. Always best when together.

Austin had two children, William Youngson (Mandi) and Emily Youngson (Josh), whom he is watching over. Austin was always there for them, especially when work needed to be done around the house or yard. He has always said how proud he was of his children, even after words failed him. William and Emily are also very proud of how strong their father was, especially in the past few years of his life.

Austin is survived by his nieces and nephews, Christine Waugh, Jennifer Waugh, Rachael Chegahno (Joe), Jordan Chegahno (Alicia), Sarah Youngson, Meredith Youngson (Peter), Heather Macdonald (James), Denis Macdonald, Austin Youngson (Tawny), Marko Youngson, Madeline Youngson (Troy) and MacLean Youngson.

Austin will be remembered by Peter Kotyk and the amazing team at Lake Superior Physiotherapy. Being a Physiotherapist was one of his greatest joys in life, knowing that he was helping others in the best way he could. He was always so thankful to his clients and will be remembered by them as well.

The family would like to thank the staff at the F.J. Davey Home for going above and beyond for Austin throughout his years there. We couldn’t have asked for better care and always felt so welcome when visiting.

Family and friends are invited to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Saturday, January 27, 2024, for visitation from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, service to follow. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. The family would appreciate donations (payable online or by cheque) to the Alzheimer’s Society of Sault Ste. Marie or towards the F.J. Davey Home in lieu of flowers. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Youngson family.

To the great and powerful Aus – Father, Son, Brother, Healer.
