The family Arthur Harold Wood, commonly called Jim, regret to announce his passing on July22, 2012.  Jim died at the age of 97 at Light Haven Christian home in Bruce Mines. Jim is predeased by his his late wife Margaret, his daughter Elizabeth Wood of Blind River his granddaughter Alexandra Hoek (Dougherty) of Iron Bridge and his deceased sister Amy Eastaugh of England. Jim immigrated from England just after the war.  He fought in WW2 with the Royal Air Force.  He lived in Toronto and worked for British American Oil Company, then Gulf Oil. Jim and Margaret sang in the St. Paul's Anglican Church in Toronto. This was his greatest passion besides his family. He had a wonderful deep bass voice.  This is where Margaret and Jim met. Jim was a member of Orient Lodge in Toronto where he was 3rd degree Mason.  He moved to Blind River about 8 years ago. The family would like to thank the staff of Light Haven Chrisian Home, Dr. Sibbald, and Dr. MacLeod and John Pomeleau of Alternative Funeral Services in Elliot Lake for all their excellent care. A short service will be held August 2, 2012 at 11:20 in the  chapel at Lighthaven Christian Home on Desbarats Street located just behind Foster's Fresh Mart.
