With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clayton at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, shortly after his 90th birthday. Beloved husband and friend of Verna for 70 years. Loved father of Rhonda Angeconeb (late Albert), Rodney (Linda), Terry (Debbie), Tim (Annette) and Kevin (Jeanne). Proud grandfather of 14, great grandfather of 17 and great great grandfather of 4. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret. Brother of the late Kae Van Norman (late Harvey), late Ken (late Bertha) and the late Jim (Pat). Brother-in-law of the late Rita Inch, Clara Snedden (late Dave) and Clifford Singleton (Lynda). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Clayton will be sadly missed by his family, friends, card playing friends, the Leeburn Seniors and the Rock Lake Christian Campground.

Born in Klock, Ontario in 1932, he moved to Bruce Mines in 1942 where he met Verna Singleton and they wed on October 3, 1951. They moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1954, where they raised five children. Clayton held several retail positions and worked at Algoma Steel as a roll turner until the layoffs in 1982. They returned to Bruce Mines and opened Wishman’s General Store and Upholstery Shop, which they owned and operated for 13 years.
