Bruna Wierzbicki (Redigolo)
July 2, 1946 - March 19, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bruna Wierzbicki, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born in Oderzo, Italy, in 1946, Bruna embarked on a journey that saw her move with her family to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada in 1950 where she lived until moving to Tillsonburg, Ontario in 2018 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Bruna leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories with her devoted husband of 57 years, Bill, her daughter, Angela Hamill (Mark); her son, Karl (Jennifer); her adored grandchildren, Owen, Emmett, Maxwell, and Samantha; her sister, Anna Wierzbicki (Dan); and many adored nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Danilo and Louisa Redigolo, and her sisters, Gina (late Gino Barsanti) and Rita.

Bruna's warmth, generosity, and zest for life won the hearts of many, fostering a wide circle of friends who held her dear. Within this cherished group, Carol Goodwin and Nancy Sagle occupied a special place, sharing countless laughs and adventures and a loving, sisterly bond.

Bruna's passion for cooking and hosting was unparalleled, making every gathering a memorable experience. She believed that love, perseverance, and an abundance of food were the keys to navigating life’s ups and downs. An enthusiastic traveler, Bruna explored the breadth of both Canada and the United States, ventured through Mexico, the Caribbean and Greece, and returned to Italy to visit relatives. She found joy in spending beautiful days outdoors, especially watching sunsets from her favorite spots: the dramatic beach at Bluewater Bay on Lake Superior’s pristine north shore, the family cottage at Pointe Aux Pins, and more recently from the comfort of her back deck in Tillsonburg, overlooking the neighboring farmer's field.

Bruna’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare teams at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care of Bruna. Special thanks to the family's friends and neighbors at Baldwin Place for their unwavering support.

Cremation has occurred in accordance with Bruna’s wishes. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Tillsonburg on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 am followed by a gathering at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society are appreciated.

In remembrance of Bruna's love for gathering and sharing, we encourage you to call up your friends and loved ones, make plans to enjoy lunch together, and cherish those moments. It's what Bruna would have wanted.
