October 18, 1969 – Oct 13, 2021

With broken hearts, the family of Darin James White announces his passing at Sault Area Hospital on October 13, 2021, at the age of 51.

He is survived by his loving parents; his mother, Grace DeLavoye and his father & step-mother, Douglas White (Lois).

He was the devoted father of one son, JD White and two step-daughters, Ashleigh and Paige Upton.

Darin was the younger brother of Michelle White (Steve Konka) of Echo Bay and David White (Cheryl) of Sault Ste Marie. He is remembered by his step-brother Michael Adams (Grace) of Costa Rica and his step-sisters Keitha Wallace and Renee Schuyler (Andy).

He was a loving uncle to Cody White, Bryanne White, Brittny White and Nicolas White, all of Sault Ste Marie.

He was part of large family and is lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Darin attended public school in Sault Ste Marie and Echo Bay, Ontario. He attended Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS) in Desbarats, Ontario and graduated from Meadowvale Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario. In 1991, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Humber College in Toronto. He worked in his field in the Toronto area before moving back to Sault Ste Marie in 2020 to be closer to his family. He loved the outdoors and spent many happy days camping with his children and other family members. He was often a man of few words, but deep thoughts. He loved unconditionally and was kind and generous to all who knew him.

A memorial in his honour will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Scleroderma Canada to promote awareness of Scleroderma (also known as Systemic Sclerosis) and to support research toward finding a cure for this devastating disease. You can donate at www.scleroderma.ca.

and floats downstream ‘til the current ends
and dips his wing in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky”
