With great sadness the family of Barry Wakefield West announce his passing on Monday, September 13, 2004 at the Sault & Area Hospitals. Survived by his loving wife and best friend Patricia, son Martin (Susan), daughters Catherine (Jeff), Cheryl (Glenn), Debora (Joe) and three precious grandsons Ryan David Madden, Kile John Arthur Coulson and Kane Joseph Wakefield Coulson. “We love you poppa Boo.” Grandfather to Sara and Adam Raichyk. Predeceased by his parents George and Martha and brother George. Barry retired from Algoma Steel Inc. January 2001. He has a love for music and shared so many piano tunes with his cancer friends at Daffodil Terrace in Sudbury. Lake Superior and all its beauty is part of who Barry is. He will be greatly missed by all who walked with him. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at 1 pm. Rev. Jim Moffatt officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the SAH Palliative Care Unit or the Parkinsons Society would be appreciated by the family.
