– Formerly of Indianapolis, IN. and Waterloo, Ontario, died peacefully at home on the morning of Monday, March 13, 2006 with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer which she fought with the same feisty courage and positive outlook she possessed during her 65 years of life. Born in Sault Ste. Marie on August 6, 1940. Daughter of the late Archie and Edith McColl. Loving wife of Darryl Wennechuk, and loving mother of Katie (Robert) Ft. Wayne, IN., Mary (David) Indianapolis, IN., Jim (Lisa) Shelby Township, MI., and Joe, Sault Ste. Marie. Beloved “Lolly” to Madeleine, Lily, Nicholas, Devon and Dru. Sister of Patricia McColl, Paris, France, Jim McColl (Sheena) Mississauga, the late Don McColl (MaryAnn) and Aunt to Jennifer McColl and Allison Brooks (Keith), Eydie Strong (Chris), Donny and Tony McColl. Sister-in-law of Hollis and Rod McLeod, Linda and Gerry Gibson and Mike Wennechuk. Aunt to Heidi Caputo (Aldo), Steve McLeod (Virginia), Sarah McLeod (AJ), Andrea Davis (Mike), Erica Vecchio (Ralph) and Rebecca Babineau (JP). She will be remembered for her gift of friendship, love of life and books by the many lifelong friends who were privileged to know her. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 3 pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 5 pm. Rev. Mr. Len Monico officiating. Jane’s family wishes to thank in particular the many friends and family who cherished and supported her during her illness. Jane loved the Sault and was very happy to have relocated here.
