WEIR, Francis (Frank) Robert

May 28, 1941 – February 4, 2016 – Suddenly in his 75th year at the Sault Area Hospital with his wife Linda (Long) of 52 years holding his hand. Predeceased by his parents Frank Weir Sr. and Irene (Deplonty) Weir previously of Sault Ste. Marie and his late mother-in-law Hazel (Seabrook) Moore of Sault Ste. Marie. Survived by his children Shirlene Weir of Sudbury, Melinda (Mindy) Billiot of Sault Ste. Marie, Mac Weir (Jane) of Sault Ste. Marie, late Tammy Lynn Weir, and late James Weir. Adored grandfather to Vanessa Seabrook-Weir of Sudbury, Joshua Moore of Thunder Bay, Shelby-Lynne Moore of Sault Ste. Marie, and Kate-Lynn Weir of Sault Ste. Marie. Caring brother to Linda Garrett (Conley) and Jo-Anne St. Jules both of Sault Ste. Marie, the late Chuck Weir (Wendy), late Harvey Weir (Pauline), late Suzie July (Gary), late Edna Belkosky (Lorne) and late Pam Weir. Brother-in-law to Harold Long (Mary) of Sault Ste. Marie, Shirley Vine of Thessalon, Barbara Meyers (Bob) of Sault Ste. Marie, Robert (Slim) Long (Sonia) of Sault Ste. Marie, Elgin Long (Marie) of Sault Ste. Marie and the late Edward (Ted) Long. Uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins. He was a special man to a multitude of friends and extended family. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 6 - 9pm. Funeral service from the chapel on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 1 pm. Mr. Phil Bailey officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made at Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH), Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Van Daele Manor where Frank spent his last few months.
