WATT, Gary

Posted

Suddenly at home with family by his side on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the age of 64. He is gone to reunite with his beloved son Kevin and his loving Mom. Best friend and life partner of Marian Wood. Much loved Dad of Chris (Karen) of Vancouver, BC and the late Kevin (2000). Respected step father of Tammy Rowlinson (Mike Balgue). Beloved brother of Bryan (Marilyn McLean), Donnie, Sheryl Lafontaine (Jack) and the late Doug (late Judy) and Bobby. Cherished, fun-loving Papa of Kaylin Rowlinson and Jacob Balgue. Dearest Grampa of the much anticipated arrival from Chris and Karen in April. Much loved brother in law, uncle and cousin of many. He will be sorely missed by his close friends and his Nicolet Buddies. Gary worked 35 years at the Liquor Store and happily retired in February 1999. Since that time he has spent many happy hours playing with his grandchildren and quiet times with family at the camp at Paquette Lake. Him and the Rev (Jack) spent many hours watching “Geronimo” or sitting by Number 7. He loved sports and the occasional nap in front of his new TV while watching his Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Lions lose again. He lived to hear from his son Chris every week as they giggled and joked on the phone, both anxiously awaiting the new baby coming in April. To Gary the most important thing in the world was “FAMILY” He was carefully planning his trip to see his new Grandbaby and instill his words of wisdom on Chris’s new role of fatherhood. Gary lived life on his own terms and to know him was to love him. He will be sorely missed for his hearty laugh and his keen sense of humour but most of all for his devotion, kindness and his ability to say it like it was. He was the “Wind beneath our Wings”. Continue on your journey my love until we meet again. Good bye “Mr. Wonderful”. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 11 am. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Girl Guides, Unit #7 in Gary’s memory would be appreciated by the family.
