We have lost our special angel.
Laurie and Brian are heartbroken as we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our dear daughter Lindsay. Words cannot describe the emptiness we feel and the pain we are going through.
Lindsay is the granddaughter of David and Marie Watkins, late Betty Andrews, late Donald Andrews and the late Peter Potvin. To Grandma Betty, her idol, who we lost so recently; Lindsay is on her way for you to take care of each other.
Lindsay is the niece of Gary and Marie Lynn Potvin, Patti and Donnie Wierzbicki, God parents Jim and Sue St. Jules and Kevin and Belinda Watkins. She is a loved cousin by Scott (Krystyna), Amy (Bob), Katie, Nicole, Mike (Nicole), Emily (Mike), Joey (Carla), Jamie-Lyn (Rob) and all of their children Ryder, Leela, Ryder, Emma, Peter, Max, Joey, Maggie, Matthew, Jacob and Daniel.
Lindsay will be lovingly remembered by her special Gaetano family, Auntie Sandra, Uncle Randy, "brother and sister" Kristian (Peter) and Marissa (Adam) and their children Ryder, Farrah and Summer. She will be missed and forever loved by her exchange student sister, from a faraway land, our Sophie Chandauka.
Our Lindsay had a heart of gold. She was thoughtful, caring, generous and compassionate. She loved family and friends. She was smart, articulate, amazing at arts and crafts and had a beautiful voice when she sang. If you were real lucky you would experience her one of a kind belly laughs.
We endured this illness, the troubling times and it's consequences together. We always knew that she was in there, and that she loved us dearly. We never gave up on her and she never gave up on us. We needed and counted on each other equally. This was our battle together, our cause. Blame and judgement were not an issue. We would say that we would love her into wellness.
We have a saying that angels, as we describe our Lindsay, have come into our lives on so many occasions and in so many different ways. We cannot begin to express to all of our family, friends, neighbours, acquaintances, and even strangers how much your support, kind words and encouragement have been appreciated. Lindsay truly knew how much you cared.
Please understand, appreciate their efforts, and realize how difficult it is for anyone working in the environment brought on by this terrible disease, what they do and what they endure. Our Social Services providers are amazing people that assisted in so many ways. Our Police Services are frontline and caring and doing so much more than enforcement in this absolutely terrible era. Our local shelters, agencies and support providers are contributing in countless ways. To Lindsay's Dear Uncle Gary, thank you for your assistance on July 1st, we will never forget that. Thank you so very much to all of you at Sault Area Hospital who assisted in caring for Lindsay and us during "our" search for a way out of this. You are all special and too numerous to mention. We had our team of Paul, Erica, Molly and Dr. Emmalee. We truly gave it our best shot, thank you.
