Nov. 11, 1929 – Nov. 8, 2008 – Son of the late August and Katherina Walz. Beloved husband and best friend of Gerda. Loving father of Michael, Derek (Gina) and Robert (Lisa). Step-father of Christina (Greg) and Barbara Syme. Grandfather of Adam (Kelly), Paul, Marcus, Kristie, and Brianna. Dear brother of the late Hans (Irma) Walz, Gustl (late Hedi) and Ernst and Maria Walz, all of Germany. Paul enjoyed his 45 years in business getting to meet the people of our community and his retirement years spent on St. Joseph Island. At the request of Paul, a special Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 2 pm at Precious Blood Cathedral. Monsignor Bernard Burns officiating. A special thank you to Dr. Walde, Dr. McLean and the staff at the Oncology Unit. The family would also like to thank the dedicated staff at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (A.R.C.H) for their great care and compassion provided to Paul and the entire family.
