Peacefully at Algoma Manor on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in his 85th year. Loving husband of Joan (nee McHale) and the late Lois (nee Harten). Bill will be lovingly remembered by children, Sheryl (Marion), Jim and Raymond (Claudette) and predeceased by Kevin. Also fondly remembered by grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Willy. Predeceased by his parents John and Georgina (nee Martin) Wallace and his siblings Robert (late Edna), Margaret Mills (late Russell), Verdun Chalmers (late Robert), Jacqueline and Ronald (Barbara). Bill will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Algoma Steel, was a talented baseball player and loved to fish and hunt with family and friends. After marrying Joan, Bill also discovered the joys of travelling the world. A private visitation and graveside service will be held. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Special thank you to all of Bill's caregivers at Algoma Manor and Thessalon Hospital and the nurses at the SAH urology clinic for their care and compassion during his monthly visits.
