It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Dale, with his family by his side on Wednesday September 27, 2023, in his 70th year.

Devoted husband of Lois (nee Cliffe), loving father of Adam (Mary-Ann) of Picton, Ontario and Devon Venne (Joey) of Ottawa, Ontario. Grandpa to Kinsley and Benett Valiquette. Son of Betty and the late Clayton Valiquette. Brother of Mark (Sharon) of Penticton, B.C., and Julie Tridico (Enzo).  Brother-in-law of John Cliffe (Lynne). Son-in-law of the late Jean and Cedric Cliffe. Uncle to Nicole David (Zach), Nathan Valiquette (Desi), Caleb Cliffe, Caitlin Saade (Fouad), and Avery Tridico.

Dale was a man of few words, but his passion for music was a constant in his life. He could often be found strumming his guitar, enjoying melodies that brought him solace and joy. Dale was a self-proclaimed homebody, but was always up for a hike in the woods, with his camera ever ready to capture the beauty in the simplest wonders of creation.

His memory will stay in our hearts, reminding us to appreciate the music of life, the beauty of nature and God’s promise of a better future.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the medical team involved: Dr. Buehner with Palliative Care, Dr. Rassouli, Lawson and Jen at the Soo Cancer Clinic for all their kindness and concern. Also, Dr. Canil, Dr. Whetter and Dr. Gaudet from The Ottawa Hospital for their special efforts and care. Thank you to Bayshore nurses Maryanne and Cassandra for all their home care over the past year.  We also came to realize what a wonderful provision our community has with ARCH, where we received the most compassionate care in Dale’s last days.

As per Dale’s wishes there will be no funeral services held.
