Suddenly and peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on March 24, 2022 at age 74.  Beloved wife of 51 cherished years to Michael Turco.  Much loved mother to Travis (Alyson) Turco and Alana (Marty) Kenopic and the late infant Bradley Turco. Very special Nanny to Nicholas and Megan Turco and Andie Kenopic.

Daughter of the late Bill and Mary McLarty (Calleri), sister to Peter McLarty (Anne), Nancy Bachman (Bill) and reunited with her late sister Paula McLarty.   Special sister-in-law to Irene Dowding (late Richard), Elaine Latvanen (Gary), Mary Anne(Cookie) Butorac (late Steve).  Adored Auntie Boo to many special nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou lived for her family, happiest when her kids and grandkids were together.  She loved to spend time camping on the beach at Pancake Bay and cheering for her grandkids in the stands at their games. She loved laughing and reminiscing with her girlfriends of the “Card Club” and visiting with her many lifelong friends.  Mary Lou was blessed with many special friendships that have been by her side for a lifetime.  Each of her friends held a very special place in her heart.

She is welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as his faithful servant.  Mary Lou will continue to guide and watch over us from Heaven above, free of all worry, fear, and pain.

A special thank you to the staff at Sault Area Hospital Emergency Department for their compassion and care during this difficult time.  Thank you to Dr. Sharon Beuhner for taking the time in your gentle and kind way to help guide and support our family in her final days. Thank you to Mary Lou’s family doctor, Dr. Carrie Kuntz, for always taking the time to be there for Mom; she always felt safe in your care.  Our family would like to also acknowledge the exceptional staff and volunteers at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice who are truly angels on Earth.

At the request of the family memorial donations in memory of Mary Lou Turco can be made to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (www.archhospice.ca) or the St. Gerard Majella Building Fund (www.stgerardssm.ca) .
