With broken hearts, much love and thankfulness, our family shares the peaceful passing of Barrie Tulloch on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, ON.  Born March 12, 1934, Barrie was in his 89th year.

Beloved husband of Audrey for 65 years.  Loving father of Joanne Savoy-Martinez (Dwayne), Janice Richards (Brian) and predeceased by son Bryan Tulloch.  Grandpa extraordinaire to Ryan Savoy, Tyler Savoy (Mandy), Jeff Richards (Shannon), Chris Richards (Taylor) and Tracey Tulloch. Very special great-grandpa to seven; Morgan, Lakely, Clara, Liv, Zoe, Lumen and Royce.

Also survived by siblings Wayne Tulloch (Joanne), Erma Carter (Vern) and Erla Wilcox.

Many nephews and nieces had a special relationship with Uncle Barrie.

Barrie started in the trucking business back in his teens and that became his life’s work for many years in Iron Bridge, ON.

An amazing sense of adventure prompted him to get his private pilot’s licence in 1968 and bought his first plane in 1969 which led to many more adventures!

Just a few years ago, he returned again to Scotland, the place of his ancestors which held a special place in his heart.  His love of travel took Barrie and Audrey to many interesting countries and exciting places throughout the years.

Barrie honed his early ‘retirement’ passion making maple syrup the old-fashioned, traditional way as founded by his grandfather on the ‘sugar bush farm’ in Iron Bridge.  Having family and friends around to help during the season brought him true joy.

Most importantly in life, Barrie loved his Bible, the message of hope in the gospel and trusted God to the end.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Menard Funeral Home, 72 Lakeside Avenue, Blind River on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will also be held at the Lions Club Hall in Iron Bridge, 10 Clarissa Street, on Sunday, February 26, 2023, beginning at 1pm until time of funeral service at 2pm.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert McIntyre Funeral Home, Guelph, ON and Menard’s Funeral Home, Blind River, ON.
