Alphie Trudeau was born on Pine Island near Killarney. We have always acknowledged the Turtle clan only to find out he was Eagle. His dad had to travel to Killarney and he fell thru the ice and survived. When he arrived with the mid wife he was already born. They grew up in South Bay at Trudeau's Creek and eventually moved to Buswah. He became a commercial fisherman where he worked for Purvis in Sault Ste Marie on Lake Superior and later fished in South Bay and Lake Huron. He finally settled down in 1963 with Amelia for 46 years and South Bay became home. He hunted, fished, made totem poles, called square dances and danced an awesome two step. He always loved children and welcomed them into his home; Killarney, Clive, Joanne, Robin, Walter, Stephanie, Jeannette and I think I missed a few. Alphie always had a relationship with his creator and the church, loved the outdoors and the medicines, had gifts of love, caring, sharing and kindness along with his stubbornness. That's what got him this far in life. Thank you all…Memorial Visitation Sunday November 10, 2013 at 6pm at the St Anthony Daniel Church, Kaboni, Wikwemikong. Memorial Mass in Our Lady of Grace Church, South Bay Monday November 11, 2013 at 9am. Interment in the South Bay Cemetery. Feast in Kaboni.
