Peacefully at Tendercare Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the age of 98 years. Predeceased by her husband John A. (Jack) Thompson (1994) and son Kenneth Thompson (1954). Dear mother of Brian Thompson (Barbara), Maureen Purificati (Gino), Carol Israel (Phil) and Kim Thompson (Cathy). Loving grandmother of Craig Thompson (Pippa), Scott Thompson (Kim), Joanne Giovanatti (Ray), Andrea Chisholm (Dac), Paul Purificati (Sara), Cristina Evans (Scott), Steven Israel (Michele), Mark Israel, Dr. Shonna Masse (Dean), Kirk and Carrie Thompson. Great grandmother of Avery and Addison Thompson, Jack Thompson, Joshua, Neil and Alexa Giovanatti, Nicholas, Lauren and Jonathan Chisholm, Lucy Purificati, Elliot and Adele Evans, Natalie and Michael Israel, P.J. Israel and Charlie Masse. Edna will be remembered by her sister-in-law Aileen Thompson (Wawa) and by her many nieces and nephews, especially Jackie Oben, Jerry Godin, Paulette Godin, Doug Thompson, Janiss McKiee, Jennifer Kelly, Leslie Rowe, Greg and Kevin Thompson and their families. Edna is predeceased by her sister Albina “Bena” Godin (late Mike), brothers-in-law Bill Thompson (late Evelyn) and Ken Thompson. Edna was a long time parishioner of St. Jerome’s Parish. Grandma T will always be remembered for the best cups of tea ever! A Memorial Mass, celebrating her life, will take place at a later date in Toronto. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
