With deep sadness we announce the passing of Reg in his 82nd year on October 18th, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan.  Survived by his best friend and wife Francine of 59 years. Proud father of his two children; son Craig Thomas (Christina), daughter Rae Thomas. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy Thomas. Loved brother of the late Joan Prentice (late Fred), Jim Thomas (Diane) and Linda Tenhagen (Max). Special brother-in-law to Peter Pyykonen (Toni) and Kim Pyykonen (Judy), and father-in-law to Robin Thomas. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Reg was a cherished Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren; Jasmine, Hunter, Haydn, Gage, Jagger, Weston and Remington.  He impacted their lives and left them with great stories to tell. Reg exemplified for them an ambitious work ethic; always busy especially on the family farm and vineyard on Sugar Island. Here he was blessed with the most amazing playground imaginable. He poured himself into it and was able to live out his love for gardening, the outdoors, creating, and simply working with his hands every day; even putting in an 9-hole golf course. It truly was his happy place. He will be missed beyond measure; he was working the farm with his daughter Rae just days before his passing.

Reg received much kindness from others; special thoughts for friend and nurse Julie on Sugar Island for her care and encouragement. Appreciation for Mike Nukk who was diligent to reconnect with his old friend over the last two years.

A natural athlete in his younger years; some from Sault Ontario will remember Reg’s fastball days pitching at North St. Field. He worked at Algoma Steel for 35 years until the family moved to Cambridge Ontario to help with his sons Audiology business.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).
