At the Finnish Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, Joseph Thomas in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Julia Thomas. Father of Marilyn Smith (late Garfield), Joanne Behm (Paul), Laurie Thomas (Garry), and the late John Thomas. Grandfather of Doris, Victoria, Tammy, Deborah, Thomas, Rhawnie, Rianne. Great grandfather of ten. Brother of the late Harry and John Thomas. Joe was in service with the Canadian Army for 5 years during W.W. 11, serving in Europe. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years and was active with the Air Cadets in Wawa for over 13 years. He was also involved in minor hockey both in Wawa and with the Soo Peewee Hockey Association for many years. At Joe’s request there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at a later date, with cremation followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to O’Sullivan Donnelly Funeral Home.
