Her spirit flies high. We are saddened to announce that Ruth Therien passed away in her 94th year on May 24, 2020 in North Vancouver, BC. Ruth was a long time resident of Sault Ste. Marie. Mother of the late Patricia Adele, Cathy Holmes, the late Dayn Therien (Marianne), Kerry Therien, and Bonnie Petrowich (Fred). Grandmother of Dayna Therien, Matthew Holmes (Jennifer), Erica Harris, Jesse Therien (Mandy), Lucas Therien, and Nicholas Petrowich. Great-grandmother of Hudson and Hugh Harris, William and Margaret Holmes, Jax and Henrik Therien. Her final resting place will be at St. Luke’s Columbarium in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Charitable donations may be made to ARCH or The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association through Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road).. A small celebration of life will be held in the future. Her family and many friends in Sault Ste. Marie and beyond were dear to her heart.
