Donald Thelland passed away at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 16, 2003 in his 71st year. It is with great sadness that we have lost a much loved and respected husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Beloved husband of the late Katrina (Kay) Thelland. Dear father of Henry Thelland (Debbie) and Suzanne Turco (Reno) both of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished grandfather of Spencer, Brianna and Renata Thelland and Nicolas and Daniel Turco. Son of the late Henry and Salome Thelland. Brother of the late Lenora Periard, Parmella Marrelli (late James), Rachelle Wilson, Neil Thelland (Anne) all of Sault Ste. Marie, late Ray Thelland (Erla) of Blind River and the late Elfreda, Elric (Cecillia) of Sudbury and the late Rita Russel. Special uncle of Nadine Stone and many other nieces and nephews. Son-in-law of the late Metta and Edward Leslie. Brother-in-law of the late Shirley Thompson (late Richard), Wayne Leslie (Cathy), Ken Leslie (Esther), the late Helen Brown (Ken) and the late Eunice Spooner (late William). Special friend of Judy Hyatt. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7758) on Tuesday, May 20, from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, then to St. Jerome?s Church for funeral mass at 1:00 pm with Rev. Hamish Currie officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Blind River. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital (Cancer Clinic or Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
