Peacefully, after a courageous struggle with pancreatic
cancer on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Sault Area Hospital; Mario Taranto at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Carmela for 46 years. Loving father of Sam, Roberto (Diane) and Anna Carpinelli (Chris). Loving Nonno of Carmela, Samantha, Tiana, Sonia and Mario. Loving brother to Gisberto, Anna Maria Gallo (Tony), Tony and Francesco (Louisa). Brother-in-law of the late Giovanni Sicoli (Maria), late Peppe Sicoli (Ines) of Milano, Italy, late Francesco Sicoli of France, Salvatore Sicoli (late Ada), late Antonio Sicoli (Teresa), Rosaria Trunzo (Mario) of Winnipeg, Teresa Falsetto (Scipione) of Cleto, Italy, Ortenzio Sicoli (Carla), late Giaconda Iacoboni (Serafino) and Silvana Anderson (Allan). Mario will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Veronica's Church on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital - Cancer Care Fund or Palliative Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
