Peacefully at the Sault Area with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the age of 90.
Dorothy was the daughter of Levi and Hazel Allen (nee Robinson) and was born on St. Joseph Island. She was the sister of Barbara Addison and the late Ken Allen. She was married to Russell William Swire on September 12, 1955 and is the mother of Hazel and her fur baby Sage, who she called Sadie. She was an aunt to Leslie Allen, the late Stephen Allen, James Addison, Linda Stasiuk (late John), Mary Addison, Rose McFarling and families.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital for their excellent care while Dorothy was there.
Cremation has taken place and the interment will take place at Laird Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
