SWEET, Willard Sr.

It is with great sadness that we announce his passing, peacefully with his family by his side at the Plummer Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 22, 2006 in his 77th year. Willard fought a courageous battle with cancer with strength and determination for over 11 months. Loving and caring husband of Shirley. Cherished father of Willard Jr. (Joni), Cathy Deresti (Eddie), Marie Sweet-Underhill (Tom) and the late Rosemarie Sweet. Step-dad of Danny and Steve Biron. Caring grandfather of Chris Sweet (Amy), Lisa Betik (Matthew), Frank Deresti (Rachelle), Sherri Lynch (Peter), Jamie Deresti (Jess), Nora and Kate Sweet-Underhill. Special Papa of Josh and Shane. Special great grandfather of Katrina and Riley Lynch, Noah and Will Betik and Ryan and Megan Deresti. Dear brother of Lloyd Sweet (Evelyn), Frank Sweet (Marilyn), Ralph Sweet (Helen) and Mary Ayotte (Norman). Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, June 26, 2006 from 11 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1 pm. Mrs. Janet Norman officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the New Sault Area Hospital Fund or the SAH Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles are requested to assemble on Monday, June 26 at 12:30 pm at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for a memorial service for the late Past President, Willard Sweet.
