(July 29,1929 - March 25th 2024)

Our hearts are broken but we all feel so blessed to have had our beautiful mother Elaine for so many wonderful years on earth. She has earned her eternal rest and the most beautiful angel wings heaven has to offer. She was 94 and passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 in her daughter’s arms at the Sault Area Hospital.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years Frank Stillert, and her first husband of 20 years Jack Sanderson the father of her three children. Daughter of the late Ella and Sam Levine, loving sister of the late Betty Lou Reed (late Bill). Wonderful, loving, caring, treasured mother and best friend of Susan Tagliabracci (late Vince 2015), late Scott Sanderson (1976) and baby James Sanderson (1952). Very very proud and loving grandmother of Dr. Vinnie Tagliabracci ( Dr. Anna Meade) of Dallas, Texas. Loved and admired aunt of Wendy Mannello (Mario), Leslie O’Connell, Lori Reed, David Reed, Rick Mannello, Jackson Reed and Jade Yurich. Many nieces and nephews from the Sanderson and Rajnovich families and always lovingly called aunt Elaine by her many cousins near and far. Loved and adored stepmother of the late John Stillert (Bonnie), Christine McLean (Paul), Jerry Stillert (Suzanne) and late Jeannie McFarling (Steve). She will be missed by step grandchildren and many great step grandchildren, Stevie McFarling (Kelly), Paul Jonathan McLean, Dr. Kristopher McLean (Lisa) Taunia Clouthier (Geoff) David Stillert (Kristin), Jeff Stillert, Jamie Stillert (Therese) and Rick Stillert.

Elaine was a chartered member of Beta Sigma PHI from age sixteen. She worked for many years at Cooperators Insurance and became the first female adjuster for the company in Ontario. She was a true trailblazer for women of her generation and loved her career. Her stories of her work and her life will be treasured family memories forever!  Elaine was also an avid golfer and in her younger years and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Boat Club as a young girl. She always wanted everyone to know that a big smile and wonderful thoughts and memories always makes a grateful happy heart no matter what you go through in life and to always be kind and loving to all.

Thank you to the staff of Bayshore, especially Brittney and Ashley, your kindness and affection for Elaine will always be remembered. Para Med, Dr. Nicki Apostle and Dr. Victoria Coccimiglio for all the kind wonderful care. Also all the professionals at the hospital especially our cousin Dr. Luke Fera who’s kindness and compassion guided us in her last two weeks on earth. Sincere love and appreciation for Bonnie Stillert, Irene Radtke and Paula Sanderson for all they have done, for their hearts of pure gold and for being Elaine and Susan’s angels on earth!

A celebration of life will be held at Sand Bay Heaven on Earth in July 2024. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or ARCH would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Stillert family.

Mom,
Every day in some small way.
Memories of you will now come our way.
Though absent you’ll be always near.
So loved, so adored and ever dear.
