Peacefully at the General Hospital with his family by his side on Monday, June 1, 2009 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Irmgard Sonley. Loving father of Jacqueline Whalen (late Steven) and Roderick (Joanne). Proud and loving grandfather of Kimberley Whalen-Riel (Steve), Kevin Whalen (Carey) and Anne and Laura Sonley. Great grandfather of Johnee Rae, Jessy-Lee, Stevie Justine Whalen and Emiley-Anne Whalen-Riel. Dear brother of Arnold Sonley (Jill), Violet Hutchinson (late Tommy) and predeceased by his sisters, Joan, Edith, Mary, Anne, Martha and Ivy. Brother-in-law of Karl Ludke (Roberta). Will will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Prior to Dad’s retirement he was for many years the business agent for Bricklayers Union Local 29.
