Smyth, Peggy (nee Margaret Mary Cain)

On August 15, 2012.  Best friend and wife of the late Dennis "Jardy" Smyth.  Proud mother of Greg (Dr. Anne Marie Caruso), Sault Ste. Marie, and Gavin (Vanessa Vanclief), Toronto.  Loving Grandmum to Riley and Teagan Smyth, Toronto.  Big sister to Tom (Carrie) Cain, Lethbridge; Jim (Pam) Cain, Ottawa; and Lynda (Dan) Kit, Jack Lake.  Dear Aunt Peggy to her nieces and nephews.  Peggy was a wonderful mother, a skilled teacher, and a professional volunteer, especially as a pioneer in Canadian consumer advocacy.  She was a formidable woman with a razor-sharp intellect and a tremendous love for her family.  Peggy treasured her time at Whitecaps, Bluewater near Sault Ste. Marie, ON and at Jamaica Bay in Fort Myers, FL.  At Peggy's request, there will be neither a visitation nor a service.  Memorial donations would be appreciated to the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) or Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.
