SMITH, Debbie Jean - Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the age of 67.
Beloved wife of almost 50 years to Roy Smith. Mom is now reunited with her daughter Cindy Smith. Loving mother/auntie of Laura McCaig (Mike) and Kevin Rusnell (Emily Staite). Proud Grandma of Hannah McCaig. Daughter of the late William and Florence Archer. Daughter-in-law of the late Harold and Lylia Smith. Dear sister of Sharon Ianni- Lucio (late Gino). Loving sister-in-law of Joan Ryckman, Beatrice Wickham (late Tommy), Joyce Corcoran (Geordie), David Smith (Cathy) and predeceased by Gordon Smith, Harold Jr. Smith (late Lorraine), Dorothy Tuckett, Margaret Nelson (Robert), Marion Buck (Alvin) and Lois Miket. Debbie will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by Jack and Audrey, Carol, Debbie (Randy) and David (Enes) and their families.
Special thanks to Dr. Booth, Dr. Voutsadakis, Dr. Shehata and all the amazing nurses in the Cancer unit for the care that they lovingly provided. We would also like to thank the nurses, PSW's, volunteers at ARCH for making Debbie's last days comfortable.
At Debbie's request there will not be a funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 1 pm until 4 pm at Northcrest Lanes (229 Great Northern Road). Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to ARCH or to the Twinkie Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
