(November 4, 1934 – January 11, 2008) – In his 74th year he peacefully and loving passed away surrounded by his family at the Plummer Memorial Hospital Palliative Unit on Friday, January 11, 2008. Devoted husband and best friend to his wife Faye Elizabeth (nee Taylor). Albert and Faye joyfully celebrated 51 year’s of marriage together. Supportive and loving father to David (Debbie), Derrick (Joanne), Darlene (Brunon) and Douglas. Cherished poppa to Barbara, Sean, Christopher, Jeremy, Maxeen, Albert, George, D.J., the late Melissa, Samantha, Colin, Andrew, Heather, Allina, Danae, Deanna and Michaela. Great poppa to 15 great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late James and Marjorie Smith and son in law to the late Frank and Evelyn Taylor. Dear brother to Robert, George, Susan and the late Ivy and Barbara. Brother in law to Clifford, Patricia and the late Donald and William. Albert will always be remembered as a loyal brother in law to Cassidy, Joan, Viki and Gary. Albert was a retired employee for 41 years of Lily Cups Limited. Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses of 200Y (General Hospital) and Palliative care (Plummer Hospital). Family and friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Monday, January 14, 2008 from 5 – 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 3 p.m. Rev. Phil Miller officiating. Cremation to follow at the Greenwood Crematorium. Family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Sick Kid’s in Toronto or Vancouver.
