SILK, Lorraine (nee MacKenzie)
August 31, 1946 - May 16, 2023
At Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH), with her family at her side on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, our beloved angel on earth gained her Heavenly Wings. Forever loved partner of Albert Senecal. Devoted mother to Susan Colasacco (Sandy) and Sean Discher (Sheila).
The greatest Nan to MacKenzie Silver (Mark), Daniel Dunn (Rhylee), Rachel Dunn (Jacob), Justin Discher and Myla Syrette; great-Nan to Braeden, Brianna, Kayley and unborn Lukas.
Lorraine was the eldest daughter of late Ronnie and late Margaret MacKenzie. Cherished sister of Dorothy Bourgeois (Norman), June Parlow (Randy), Fred MacKenzie (Donna) and Jane Vienneau (Brian).
She had a special place in her heart for her step-children and their families, late Shelley Senecal, Frank Senecal (Nella), late Sean Morretin and late Mathew Morretin, the children of her late husband Charlie Silk, Jennifer, Andrew and Scott Silk.
Lorraine will be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Frank Senecal and sister-in-law June Beaton. She will be dearly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and the Discher family. Lorraine made many friendships over the years and held everyone close to her heart.
A special thank you to the beautiful people at ARCH for making her last week so comfortable and to Nancy and Olivia for helping her stay in her home over the last year.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment Cloudslee Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations made payable by cheque or online to ALS Society of Canada or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
