Having enjoyed a full and interesting life, Harold passed away quietly at Pathyways Retirement Home on Sunday, July 9, 2006 in his 79th year. Retired electrician, gone on his last journey. Beloved husband of the late Ellen. Survived by daughter Krystal McLean (Bill) and daughters by choice; Mary-Ellen Piwowarski (Julian), Peggy Lee Mannarino (Sam), Debra Anne Ellard (Rodney) and Jacqueline Susan Nicastro. Also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Emma, sisters Marjorie Mason and Mae Johnson. Brother in law of Elva Fantham, William Pasichnyk, Cecile Sweezey and Frank Fantham. Good friend of many, especially Mary Ann DeLuco and Ruby Greco. Harold was educated in Toronto, Winnipeg, God’s Lake and the “Soo”, worked at many jobs and places across Canada, including the Northwest Territories and 32 years at the Construction Department of Algoma Steel. After retirement, he traveled extensively to look at archeological sites in Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Thailand, Bali, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and Cuba. He obtained some interesting items and souvenirs and made friends with many people. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 6 pm until time of service in the chapel at 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the New SAH Radiation Bunker or World Vision would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank Dr. David Walde and the nursing staff of the 4th Floor Oncology and Pathways Retirement Home for the care and concern given to our dad.
