It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of our Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Friend, Russell See, who after a courageous battle with cancer passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 in his 83rd year.
Lovingly remembered by his children, Norma Elliott (Don), Darlene Porpealia, Darrell (Amy) and Patty (Terry). Proud Grandpa of Adam (Joscelyn), Danielle, Avery, Darienne and Jakob (Erica). Great Grandpa to three amazing little ones, Jemma, Nash and Denver. Cherished brother to Betty Kennedy and a loving Uncle to many. Predeceased by his "Travelling Companion Flo".
Dad wanted his family and friends to know how much he appreciated their love and support throughout his life and especially during the past two years. For those who stopped in to visit, called, sent him a card or a note, you have no idea how much it meant to him and how it brightened his day! There are no words to express our gratitude.
Throughout these past two years Dad’s fight with Cancer surrounded him with a lot of amazing people. Dad would say often that he never met a nurse he didn’t like or appreciate. Dad shared with us his appreciation for the support and care he received from everyone at the Cancer clinic, Dr. Voutsadakis, volunteers, staff and nurses. As well as all the staff from ParaMed who supported him to be able to stay home as long as he did, a very special thank you to Marcy who dad referred to as part of the family. His remaining days were spent at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice surrounded by wonderful staff and volunteers ensuring he was comfortable and supported. Dr. N. Apostle, we can’t thank you enough for the care and compassion that you showed to him; just know he was very grateful to have you in his corner during this difficult journey. The respect and kindness everyone showed him during his battle with cancer provided him the strength to fight as long as he did.
As per dad's request a Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque) can be made to ARCH, Women In Crisis (Algoma) Inc. or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).
