SCOPACASA, Nicola (Nick) - With great sadness after a long struggle we announce Nick’s passing on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at ARCH Hospice at the age of 78.
Born in Simbario Italy, the youngest son of the late Domenico and Orsala Scopacasa. Loving husband of Cheryl (nee Biron). Caring father of Steve McQueen (Katya), Rhonda Piffero (Marc), Mark McQueen (Diane), and Dominic Scopacasa (Kirsten). Proud grandfather of Ruby and Jacob McQueen, Alyshia Bisier (Kyle), Makenzie Clark (Spencer), Isabella and Nicola Scopacasa. Cherished great grandfather of Owen and Vada Bisier. Dear brother of the late Tino Scopacasa (late Rose), Maria Giuliano (late Tony), Brunina Lombardo (Vincenzo) and Gina Costa (Charlie). Brother-in-law of the late Deryl Biron (Valerie) and Chris Biron (Lyn). Lovingly known as Chief to devoted niece Teresa Gavin (Jeff). Nicola will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Nick will be fondly remembered as a talented man who could seemingly fix anything, always willing to lend a hand or solve any problem. Nick loved his retirement on Goulais Bay, spending countless hours fishing and working in his yard with Cheryl by his side. He will be missed by the many friends he made there.
A remembrance of Nick's life will be held Saturday April 20th from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm at The Marconi 450 Albert St W, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. We would like to invite all friends and family to attend. Memorial contributions to ARCH Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Special thank you to Dr. Booth and the entire staff and volunteers at ARCH.
