On Tuesday, August 29th, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Elsa Schaer, our beloved mother and grandmother is finally without pain. Wife of the late Charles Schaer, mother of Wilfred, Rose Marie Schaer-Wade (Mike), Danny (Suzanne) and Gloria Calam (Chas). Grandmother of Heidi, Paul and Andrew Schaer, Michael, Matthew and Sam Wade. She was a proud long-time volunteer with Girl Guides of Canada and was 'Nana' of her Sparks for many years. She was well loved and will be sorely missed by many. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday, September 1, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 6:00 p.m. with Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (A.R.C.H.) or Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic would be appreciated by the family. Many thanks to the volunteer drivers from the Elks Lodge who provided transportation to and from Sudbury for radiation. More thanks go to all of the nurses who have been there for all of mom's chemotherapy and treatments, as well as the nurses of 4th Floor Oncology and Palliative Care. Love and extra special thanks go to Deborah, her primary care nurse and Dr. S. Spadafora who helped mom feel loved and was always honest with her. Your hugs helped her through many difficult moments.
