Peacefully passed away at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice in her 82nd year, on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Gerald. Loving mother of Margaret Sagle (Christopher de Gara), Catherine Moore (Andrew), the late Thomas (Karen Hohmann), Karen Sagle (Avtar Kauldhar) and William (Venissa de Castro). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lisa Jane, Shayne, Sabrina, Nicholas, Julianne, Miranda, and Kenneth. Cherished daughter of the late Henry and Helen Sallans. Phyllis attended Queen’s University graduating with a BA in English. She was a stay at home mom until her kids were in high school and then worked for many years at Sears in Customer Service. Phyllis was a lover of classical music, film, art, and poetry. She enjoyed her retirement and was often in the company of one of her cats, drinking tea and doing crossword puzzles. She said she liked Sudoku but often lamented that she had fouled it up. She loved the Greyhounds and would often attend games. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm and again at the Emmanuel United Church on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am. Mrs. Helen Smith Officiating. Inurnment Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke foundation, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or ARCH would be appreciated. Thanks to the staff of 3C at the Sault Area Hospital and ARCH for their care.
