On Wednesday, May 9, 2018 Heaven received a very special lady in her 98
th year. Betty quietly and peacefully slipped away at her home, Pathways Retirement Residence. She was surrounded by the love and caring of her family and her Pathway “angels”. Betty moved on to her next journey the same way she lived this life with class, kindness, thoughtfulness and integrity. She loved her family, Gros Cap, a good game of cards, a party, animals, children, chocolate and of course her Greyhounds (shout out to the old Section 5 friends). Betty was the cherished only child of the late Gay and Odelle Wilson. Devoted wife of the late Hartley Russell. Loving mother of the late Wayne (Judy). Gayle and of her late “adopted” daughter Beth Lozon. Betty’s life was made perfect with the arrival of her greatest love, her only grandson Sean Russell (Vanessa) and their beautiful children Joshua and Jenna. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. The family can’t thank enough the people who cared for and loved Betty especially during her last years; Lexie Funston, Janet Acal, tea buddy Patti Gardi and all the staff and residents at Pathways. You meant so much to her! A Private graveside service will be held with Claranne McFarling officiating. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date at her family camp in Gros Cap.
