Passed away peacefully at the Extendicare Tendercare Nursing Home on Saturday February 18, 2006, in his 86th year with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Best friend and soul mate of Betty (Smith) for 62 years. He will be truly missed by his daughter Linda Frees (Chuck). A loving grandfather who was always ready to give of himself to his four grandsons. Grandpa will always have a special place in the hearts of Sheldon (Marnie), Todd of St. Catharines and Chris and Greg of Fergus. Beloved great grandfather of Brittany, Brandon and Madison. Brother-in-law of Bud and Barbara Smith of Powell River, British Columbia. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Emma Roy and four brothers and four sisters. At Edward's request a private service was held at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre. Mr. John Maccarone officiated. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation made to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Edward's family sincerely thanks the caring and considerate staff of the Tendercare Nursing Home. Throughout his stay the love, kindness and respect shown to Ed was not only a great comfort to him but also to our family.
