Peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the young age of 55. Greatly missed by his most beautiful wife Donna. Proud father of Joel (Ikeda), Don (Heidi), Patricia Merling (Grant) and Jody Mallette (Andrew). Papa of Keliyah, Kylan, Cash and Colbie Rowswell, Damian and Dawson Merling and Amelia and Alexa Mallette. Dear son of Gladys Mimms Jarrett (late Donald). Son-in-law of Mary Marconi (Larry). Brother of Daniel (Nancy) and Diane Heikkila (Royce). Brother-in-law of Kim Robinson (Pete Whelan), Geraldine Cameron (Doug), Bob Briere, Lillian Briere, late Mike Briere and the late Brenda Jaeger. Mayor John was extremely proud to represent the City of Sault Ste. Marie over the past 10 years. Family, friends and public are invited to pay their respects at the Essar Centre on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 3:00 – 8:00 pm. A private family service will be held at a later date.
