Passed away with family and “Sky” by her side on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the age of 86. Mary was born in Bruce Mines, Ontario January 6, 1922 and is now with her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Robert, her parents John and Margaret, her brothers Herb, Alex and James (Lois). Dear mother of Rhonda and Graham (Heather). Grandmother of Martin and Erin Grochowski of Seattle, Amanda Lesyshen (Nick) and Thomas. Dear sister of Florence Thompson (late Robert). Aunt of many nieces and nephews and relatives in Goulais, St. Joseph Island and “down the line”. Special friend of Eastman Currie. Mom grew up in the Soo and after completing school at Soo Tech, she worked for different places including Childrens Aid and Algoma Steel. She even spent a while up in Wawa at the mines. After marrying Bob, they moved to Toronto for 10 years and then returned home to the Soo where she was employed at the Forestry Research Centre on Queen St. Upon retirement she kept busy with grandchildren and Awana’s at Bethel Bible Chapel. Her last months were spent at the Sault Area Hospital and Tendercare Nursing Home and we thank them for all their wonderful care. Someone said they will miss her smile and upon writing this, so will I. Forever with the Lord. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, November 14, 2008 from 6-9. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2 pm. Mr. Bruce Cain officiating. Interment at a later date in Grace United Cemetery, Hilton Beach.
