Rosenberg, Merl

Passed away peacefully on March 18, 2012 at the age of 77.  Beloved husband of Jean.  Cherished father of Ann Brandow (Bob Blatter),  Bill (Jeannine),  Larry Doherty (Sandy) and Marnie Doherty (Scott Ladoceur). Son of the late Charles and Phyllis.  Brother of the late Donald (late Mildred).   Son-in-law of John Gauley (late Hazel).   Grampa to Summer Gilreath (Ed),  Melissa Nightingale (Marty), and Cameron and Bailey Doherty.  Great Grampa to Will Nightingale and Maddie Gilreath.  Brother-in-law of Margaret Berlinguette (Clare Ferguson), Dorothy Caruso,  Gary Dumond (Marguerite) and the late John MacDonald (Nancy) and Ernie Dumond.  Uncle to many nephews and nieces. Merl's passion for logging and sawing railway ties remained steadfast throughout his illness and over the years his mantra of "Don't tell me what you can't do - tell me what you can do" was heard by many.  Merl also enjoyed along with his wife Jean, the organizing of the Saturday afternoon Meat Draw at the Thessalon Legion Branch 182.   A private family service will be followed by spring interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery.   Donations to the Cancer Society or Arthritis Society gratefully accepted.  Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon, Ontario.  www.beggsfh.com
