It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the passing of Sylvia on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the age of 86 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Daughter of the late Jon and Rose Opala. Devoted wife to the late Paul. Cherished and supportive mother to Renee, Karen (late Jamie) Biocchi, Janice (Lino) D'Orazio and Chris (Sandra). Beloved grandmother to Jennifer, late Nicholas, Christopher, Alec (Becca), Daniel, Brett, Anthony, Maia and Natalia. Great grandmother to Aidan, Dylan, Joey, Ryder and Kruz. Predeceased by her siblings Stella, Joe, Eddie, Florence, Pauline, Fred, Stan, John and Raymond. Sister in law to Marcel (Cheryl) and Suzie (Allen) McCaig. Predeceased by her brothers-in-law Wilfred (late Margaret) and Donald (Carole). Survived by many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank her caregivers and the staff at the F.J. Davey Home. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 3 pm. Rev. Paul Conway officiating. Sylvia will be reunited with her late husband Paul at Greenwood Colombarium following mass. Memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to ARCH or SAHF Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated.
